Surgery Hours and Medical Access
Consultations are by appointment: Seymour Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm. Appointments longer than 10 minutes are available on request.
                                                                       Avenel: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00am - 5.00pm
Please let us know of any cultural requirements that may relate to your medical care; an interpreter service can be organised if necessary. Doctors in the practice may be contacted by telephone during surgery hours. If the doctor is consulting with a patient, you may speak with the practice nurse. Otherwise a message will be taken and your call returned as soon as possible.

This practice has a no smoking policy.

Home Visits

Home Visits are available to patients who are unable to attend the surgery due to illness or disability. Please speak with reception staff if a home visit is a requirement for you.

Test Results

You will be advised by the doctor as to the availability of your test results. Please call the surgery and ask to speak to the nurse. You will be contacted by the surgery should you require a follow up appointment

Childhood Immunisation

The Goulburn River Group Practice is committed to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Program to improve childhood immunisation rates. An appointment can be made at your request.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions may be made without an appointment from your doctor if previously agreed upon. An appointment will be necessary if you have not seen the doctor during the past 12 weeks. At least 24 hours notice is needed and a charge of $10 upon script collection applies.

Reminder System

This clinic is committed to preventative care and uses both internal and state reminder systems. Consequently you may occasionally be issued with a reminder notice. Please let us know if you do not wish to be part of this system.

All urgent After Hours medical requests can be made to the Nurse On Call Service Tel: 1300 60 60 24 or Seymour Health Tel: 5793 6100. During an emergency contact the ambulance on 000.

Fees

This practice charges fees above the Medicare rebate. Bulk billing is offered on a limited basis only. Please refer to the details at the counter for updated charges and consult with reception staff for information regarding home visit charges or after-hours fees.

  • Level B (0-20 minutes) Fee: $75.00 Rebate: $41.40 Gap: $33.60
  • Level C (20-39 minutes) Fee: $118.10 Rebate: $80.10 Gap: $38.00
  • Level D (40 minutes min.) Fee: $160.00 Rebate: $118.00 Gap: $42.00
